Transcript Introduction
Al Neely:
Hello everyone. I’m Al Neely, and I want to welcome you to the ListenUp Podcast. We’re in Season 4, where our focus is on the arts. Today, we’re joined by Ann and Jennifer Leister, fashion promoters and agents in the Hampton Roads area.
Ann Leister:
I’m doing great, Al. It’s so good to be here. I’ve really been looking forward to this.
Jennifer Leister:
Thank you so much for your hospitality. You have such a beautiful space and a wonderful podcast.
Al Neely:
Thank you. Let’s get right into it. I met you both at a meeting for an upcoming event, and that led to learning about your organization, Splash Entertainment Group. Ann, can you talk about how it started?
Ann Leister:
I started Splash Entertainment in 2006. Initially, we focused on model and talent management, but over time we shifted more toward show production and events. Our main event each year is VA Fashion Week.
Al Neely:
When is VA Fashion Week this year?
Ann Leister:
This year we’re doing one main show on October 19th at MoCA. Information is available at vafashionweek.com, and tickets are on Eventbrite. We’re also excited to partner with Timberland Way Weekend and honor Virginia’s music and fashion culture.
Al Neely:
Jennifer, what role do you play in the organization?
Jennifer Leister:
I help with everything — coordinating shows, organizing model calls, communicating with designers and talent, and assisting with production. It’s something I’ve been involved in since I was young and I love it.
